The VIII Ministerial Meeting on Digital Government of the Americas and XVIII Annual Meeting of Red Gealc, was held on November 26 and 27, 2024, in Brasilia, Brazil, with related activities on November 25 and 28.
The Ministerial Meetings of Red Gealc are a biennial high-level political instance that brings together authorities from countries of the Americas. They provide an ideal environment to establish joint actions between countries in the network, promoting horizontal cooperation and discussing directions and trends in digital government.

- Information on the 2025 elected authorities and about the winners of the excelGOB 2024 awards is included in the Declaration of Brasilia.
- It was defined that the venue for the 2025 Annual Meeting will be Guatemala, and that the 2026 Ministerial Meeting will be held in Washington DC with the OAS and the IDB as hosts.

The event was organized by the Gealc Network with the support of the Organization of the American States (OAS) as Technical Secretariat, and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as the driving institution. This year, with Brazil as the host country, the Secretariat of Digital Government of the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services was organizer, FLACSO and ENAP were co-organizer, and Caixa, Dataprev, Serpro, nicBr, BBTS and Itaipu Binacional were sponsors.
