The Awards for Excellence in digital government, excelGOV, are organized every two years by the Electronic Government Network of Latin America and the Caribbean (GEALC Network), with the support of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

Each edition allows for the recognition and systematization of the most transformative initiatives in this field carried out in Latin America and the Caribbean. The awards have their 9th iteration in 2024 and the process is open to the public presentation of applications for solutions in operation, at the national level (neither provincial nor municipal), in these two categories: 

1.Digital transformation. 

2. Cross-border digital services.

Special mentions on (a) Data, (b) Gender Approach and (c) Emerging Technologies will be awarded amongst all candidates of the two categories. 

Voting 

Voting will take place during the VIII Ministerial Meeting on Electronic Government of the Americas (Brasilia, November 26th and 27th, 2024). The jury, as usual, are the delegations participating in the VIII Ministerial Meeting, with one vote per country (the decisions of the jury are final) 

 
The winning organization in each category will receive a technical mission for one person, with all expenses paid, to South Korea, financed by the IDB.

The winner of each special mention will receive a scholarship for a virtual course on the OAS Campus.

Form of submission: Through electronic form before August 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. (Chile time).

Each entity or person can submit as many applications as they wish.
