The Regional Public Goods Initiative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) approved the Program for the Strengthening of Electronic Cross-border Transactions in Latin America and the Caribbean.

his program is executed by Fundación Julio Ricaldoni within the framework of Red GEALC and it aims at generating capacity and supporting the implementation of cross-border electronic signature and cross-border digital services in order to accelerate adoption in the region, strengthening reliable and safe electronic transactions in an effort to promote digital economies and governments in the context of integration. For this purpose, practical models and applications to be implemented at three different speeds will be developed taking into consideration the different levels of technological advancement and the sub-regional realities.

Participating countries are Argentina, Bahamas, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela.
